Ropes intertwined was my first time using found materials other than painting on canvas to create a piece of work. I wanted to experiment with yarns, twine, wood boards, and foam board. I wanted to see how the ropes would hold a form and if the foam board would create shadows. This was a time of experimentation and to see how far I could push these materials to make a final piece. How could I manipulate the rope to create its organic form? How would the color choices alter the meaning of the piece?
